The Experience
THE FABRIC MAKERS LAB ✂️\ Because every great design starts with the fabric. Your child gets dressed every day without ever asking what they're wearing. This week, they find out. Five afternoons of hands-on studio projects — and every one of them becomes a page in their own Fabric Makers Handbook, a studio-grade swatch book they build from scratch. They leave with their own Fabric Makers Portfolio, every page paired with a mini activity, from dye tests to weaving art. Plus a custom upcycled clutch — and real maker confidence. No sewing required. Mon 12 – Fri 16 Oct | 1:00–4:00 pm | Ages 8–12 📍 JLT, Cluster X, Building X2, Dubai - United Arab Emirates 5 DAYS OF MAKING & FABRIC DISCOVERY 🌱 MONDAY — Fiber & Origin Spin raw cotton into thread, explore where clothes come from, and compare natural vs. synthetic fibers. 🧶 TUESDAY — How Is It Made? Explore woven, knitted and felted textiles through finger-knitting and mini-loom weaving. 🎨 WEDNESDAY — Dye & Material Testing Test stretch, weight and drape, then experiment with natural dyes and colour-changing results. 🌸 THURSDAY — Surface & Print Design Create botanical prints with real flowers and design custom textile patterns using handmade stamps. ♻️ FRIDAY — Upcycle Design Turn an old T-shirt into continuous yarn and create a custom upcycled clutch. WHAT THEY TAKE HOME ⭐ Fabric Makers Handbook A personal textile portfolio filled with swatches, experiments, colour tests and designs made throughout the week. ⭐ Custom Upcycled Clutch A finished fashion accessory transformed from an everyday T-shirt. ⭐ Mini Textile Art Knitted, woven, dyed and printed creations. ⭐ Real Design Skills Material knowledge, experimentation, creative problem-solving, sustainability and the confidence to make something from scratch. Upcoming Sessions
Cancellation Policy
Enrollment Places are confirmed on receipt of payment. Spaces are limited to keep groups small, and are allocated in order of booking. Payment Full term fees are due before the first session. Places are not held without payment. Pay in Person — if you select this option, your place is reserved now and payment is made by bank transfer. Payment must be received before the first session.. Missed sessions If your child misses a session, they are welcome to join another session of the same course that week — subject to available space. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can prepare materials. Make-up sessions cannot be carried beyond the term. Cancellations and refunds More than 7 days before the term starts: full refund, less a 10% administration fee Within 7 days and after the term has started: no refunds or transfers Missed sessions are not refundable or deductible, as materials and a place in the group are reserved for your child for the full term. Programme changes If we need to cancel a session, we will offer a replacement date or credit it toward the following term. Photography We occasionally photograph sessions for our website and social media, and we generally avoid using faces — most images show hands, work in progress, and finished pieces. We never publish children's names or schools. If you'd prefer your child not to appear at all, let us know in writing and we'll make sure of it. Behaviour and safety Our sessions use real materials and tools. We ask that students follow safety instructions at all times.
