3D Mannequin Design (Draping)\ Hand-stitching only. No machines—just her hands, geometric shapes, fabric, and four core stitches.\ 10 sessions | Tuesdays After School Sept 22 - Dec 1 (Break Oct 13 no class) | 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM | Ages: 8–12 Your young designer will discover how clothes are actually created in 3D: taking flat 2D shapes—like circles, squares, and rectangles—and sculpting them directly onto her own 1/3 life-size mannequin. She’ll explore how different fabric weights fall, how flat patterns are formed around a body, and master essential hand-sewing techniques to construct, join, and detail her garments. She’ll build original tops , dresses and skirts from scratch using precise hand stitches. What your designer will do: ✨ Master the Foundations of Fit & Shape — Discover how geometric flat shapes (circles, squares, and rectangles) fold, drape, and flow on a 3D body to create skirts and tops. ✨ Learn to "Read" Fabric — Understand weight, stretch, and grain line, and how different textiles alter a garment's silhouette. ✨ Understand Pattern Making Through Draping — See how pin lines on a mannequin become the blueprinted flat patterns used to cut fabric. ✨ Master Essential Hand-Stitches — Learn running, back, feather, and chain stitches without needing a machine—just her hands, needle, and thread. ✨ Embellish & Personalize — Add fine details using fabric paint, transfer prints, and decorative hand embroidery. Included in the course: 👗 Her own professional 1/3 scale foam mannequin — Hers to keep and bring back for future terms. 👗 Complete fabric kit — Custom-dyed cottons in three distinct weights and structural properties. 👗 All supplies — Sewing needles, pins, threads, trims, and embellishment tools. Cancellation Policy
Enrollment Places are confirmed on receipt of payment. Spaces are limited to keep groups small, and are allocated in order of booking. Payment Full term fees are due before the first session. Places are not held without payment. Pay in Person — if you select this option, your place is reserved now and payment is made by bank transfer. Payment must be received before the first session.. Missed sessions If your child misses a session, they are welcome to join another session of the same course that week — subject to available space. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can prepare materials. Make-up sessions cannot be carried beyond the term. Cancellations and refunds More than 7 days before the term starts: full refund, less a 10% administration fee Within 7 days and after the term has started: no refunds or transfers Missed sessions are not refundable or deductible, as materials and a place in the group are reserved for your child for the full term. Programme changes If we need to cancel a session, we will offer a replacement date or credit it toward the following term. Photography We occasionally photograph sessions for our website and social media, and we generally avoid using faces — most images show hands, work in progress, and finished pieces. We never publish children's names or schools. If you'd prefer your child not to appear at all, let us know in writing and we'll make sure of it. Behaviour and safety Our sessions use real materials and tools. We ask that students follow safety instructions at all times.
